Southfields Village is a master-planned community in south Caledon at Kennedy Road and Mayfield Road, built from the late 2000s onward and still adding phases. Despite sitting inside the Rural Caledon MLS community, it is fully serviced with municipal water and sewer, and Highway 410 terminates at its doorstep.

Southfields Village sits in the Peel DSB's Mayfield family of schools, feeding Mayfield Secondary at 5000 Mayfield Road. Two elementary schools are inside the community itself — SouthFields Village PS on Learmont Avenue and Tony Pontes PS on Kennedy Road — which is a genuine advantage for younger families. French Immersion for this part of Caledon runs at Herb Campbell PS on King Street (grades 1–8, half-day French); no immersion stream is documented at either in-community school. On the Catholic side, Robert F. Hall Catholic Secondary in Caledon East serves the area, with Cardinal Ambrozic in Brampton as a possible alternate for parts of Mayfield West — confirm with the Dufferin-Peel school locator.

Southfields Village is a greenfield community built out largely from the late 2000s through the 2010s, developed as growth spilling north out of Brampton, and it is still adding phases. In practical terms it is a new-build neighbourhood with Caledon addresses and Brampton adjacency.
The stock is overwhelmingly newer freehold: detached homes on roughly 30 to 50 foot frontages, with a substantial component of freehold and condo townhomes. Recent infill includes Genesis Homes' townhome phase on Springdale Avenue and Ormand Terrace. Multiple production builders worked across the phases, so finishes and floorplans vary by pocket rather than being uniform across the community.
Servicing is the detail that separates Southfields from everything around it. Homes here are on municipal water and municipal sanitary sewer, confirmed on MLS servicing fields for Southfields addresses. The surrounding Rural Caledon countryside — which shares the same MLS community code — is on private well and septic. Two listings labelled Rural Caledon can therefore be completely different propositions.

Two public elementary schools: SouthFields Village PS at 110 Learmont Avenue and Tony Pontes PS at 12872 Kennedy Road. St. Evan Catholic Elementary is at 500 Dougall Avenue. Public secondary students attend Mayfield Secondary at 5000 Mayfield Road, just south on the Brampton boundary.
Herb Campbell PS at 3749 King Street in Caledon runs the Peel DSB grade 1–8 half-day French immersion model for this part of Caledon. Neither SouthFields Village PS nor Tony Pontes PS is documented as offering an immersion stream. Confirm the current centre assignment with the board before buying on it.
Mostly late 2000s through the 2010s, with newer townhome phases still being delivered. This is a genuinely new-build community, so most homes are on original mechanicals and many are still within or near builder warranty windows depending on phase.
Highway 410 ends at Mayfield Road right at the community's edge, which gives Southfields better 400-series highway access than any other Caledon community. For rail, Mount Pleasant GO on the Kitchener line is a 10 to 15 minute drive. Brampton Transit Route 81 Mayfield West provides local bus service.
